Owned by Linda Thomas, Sunstar started in 1988 as a show only kennel, but soon got hooked on running as well.

During the years I believed in breeding dogs that are sound in body and mind. As I place great emphasis on a good temperament and a sound structure, all stud dogs and brood bitches are selected with great care. They are HD graded and eye tested. All my puppies are microchiped BEFORE they leave home.

We tried to breed a dog that will have a dual purpose. A good sled dog and a good show dog. As we were and still are, a small kennel there was not space to keep separate dogs for showing and sledding.

All breeding stock sold will be either replaced or refunded in case of a genetic problem that render them unfit for show and/or breeding. Pets go on a spay/neuter agreement.

My first litter produced my first BIS winner. CH Sunstar Misha, thanks to Judy Russell of Karnovanda. Sadly I lost Misha because of an ulcerated colon. My next BIS winner was CH Sunstar Eron.

Sunstar was one of the top producing Siberian kennels in South Africa. On moving to the UK the kennel name was changed to Shimani. As we are in our beginning stages again, watch this space!
